Choosing the Right Cancellation Policy on Pridebnb

Deciding on a cancellation policy is a critical aspect of hosting on Pridebnb.

It's about finding the right balance between flexibility and security for both you and your guests. In today's travel landscape, guests appreciate flexibility when planning their trips, so offering a suitable cancellation policy can make your listing more attractive. Pridebnb recommends using the flexible cancellation policy. However, we understand that every host's needs are different, so we offer various cancellation policies, allowing you to select the one that aligns with your hosting preferences and business goals.

Standard Cancellation Policies:

These policies apply to reservations of fewer than 28 consecutive nights:
  • Flexible Policy (default): Ideal for hosts who want to offer guests maximum flexibility. Guests receive a full refund if they cancel at least 48 hours before check-in.

  • Moderate Policy: This policy strikes a balance between flexibility and host protection. Guests receive a full refund if they cancel at least 7 days before check-in. If they cancel within 7 days of check-in, you'll be compensated for 50% of the reserved nights.

  • Firm Policy: Perfect for hosts who prefer more security against cancellations. Guests receive a full refund if they cancel at least 14 days before check-in. If they cancel within 14 days of check-in, you'll be compensated for 100% of the reserved nights.
Long-Term Cancellation Policies:

Pribebnb has one (Firm) long-term cancellation policy which applies to reservations of 28 consecutive nights or more and override your standard policy:
  • Firm Long-Term Cancellation Policy: Guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in for a full refund. If a guest cancels after this, you'll be paid 100% for all nights spent, plus 30 additional nights. If fewer than 30 nights remain on the reservation when the guest cancels, you'll be paid 100% for all remaining nights.
It's important to note that cleaning fees are always refunded if the guest cancels before check-in, regardless of the cancellation policy. Refunds on Pridebnb guest service fees depend on several factors.

Which Policy is Right for You?

Selecting the right cancellation policy depends on your specific hosting needs, goals, and the kind of guests you wish to attract. Here are some considerations:
  • Flexible Policy: Ideal for attracting guests during the low season or when you're confident in your rebooking capabilities during the high season.

  • Moderate Policy: Suitable for discouraging last-minute cancellations while still accommodating guests with flexible plans.

  • Firm Policy: A good choice if you want to avoid cancellations and can handle them with sufficient notice, especially if your space is in demand year-round.
Additionally, some hosts increase their earnings by offering a non-refundable option alongside their cancellation policy. Guests can choose this option for a discounted price, typically 10% off the base price, and if they cancel, the host retains the entire payout for all nights booked.

In summary, the key is to find a cancellation policy that aligns with your hosting style and meets your guests' needs. While flexibility is often appreciated, especially in today's travel landscape, choose a policy that supports your hosting routine and helps secure reservations.

Happy hosting!
